“Re-Read (a triptych)” by Lynne Sargent

The smell,
of hot grass
on a summer morning
Longbottom leaf smoke
old and weathered pages
the taste,
of warm tea
outside in the afternoon
an adventure brewing
tempting you in
the flavor you return to
the feel,
of home
that dusky night

holding you close
like a familiar friend
